Breakfast for Mom

I slept in very late on Friday. I woke up to a wonderful surprise...Breakfast in bed!!! What was the special occasion? Nothing, Grace wanted to take a bath and her Dad said not until Mom wakes up. Grace then came up with the GREAT idea to make Mom a surprise and that way she would be able to wake me up and then of course take a bath!!! She is way too smart for the likes of us on most days!!!

FFA Petting Zoo

Wednesday the preschool came over to the high school for the FFA Petting Zoo. Grace asked me to meet her there and go to. So we got to see some animals. Of course, Grace likes dressing for the occasion and since I told her it would be farm animals she had to wear her bibs. Enjoy the pics!

Super Heroes with Incredible Powers!!!

Brooks and I are very accommodating to Grace's whims. So last night when she wanted us to be "Super Heroes" we did. When she asked us to take pictures we did. Are these pictures now going to be shared with lots of our family and friends, yes. Is Brooks happy about this, no. Here they are.......

Grace's Super Hero name is "Mouthy the Mighty", this was her idea not ours!

SNOW!!!

Derek (my nephew) and Grace and I played outside today. Derek didn't have any winter clothes so he got to wear Uncle Brooks' socks, Carhart bibs, hoodie and boots! The bibs were the funniest because I had to take the straps and wrap them with a hair tye to hold them up so the butt of the pants weren't down around his knees. He looked funny. Also, the bonus for me is that he got to wear a Green Bay Packers coat I got at a garage sale...Go Pack!!! Btw, Derek is NOT a Packers fan. :( Grace made a snow angel and Derek started a fort. We then went down to Uncle Steve's house and made a snowman and shoveled his driveway out for him. We are all tired!!!

Derek loving on Herbie!!!

Pink Eye

Grace has pink eye...which in turn means Brooks and I have pink eye just a little. Grace doesn't care for the eye drops and we have to kind of hold her down. She is a lot stronger than she looks. We have got a couple doses of the drops in and they say she is fine to be around other people so hopefully we won't infect anyone else. It looked a lot worse yesterday, which shows us that the meds are working.

Wonderful weather for walking

Grace and I got out yesterday and enjoyed the weather. Grace was very big on going on walks. I let her give me directions in what way to go for our walk. We started out crossing Main street, then crossing the street that intersects Main street, then crossing back over Main street. I don't really know what she had in mind but it was funny and I just let her do it. After that we went for a long walk. We ended up at her friend Jeremiah's house. Grace was sooo happy to be at his house. This is her "boyfriend" as she tells us from time to time. She got to play in his house and have snack and then come out a play. They rode on a Jeep and Harley PowerWheel toys. Jeremiah and Grace took turns pushing each other in the Jeep because the battery was getting low. Well when it was Grace's turn to push Jeremiah drove into the alley. Not such a big deal as they live on the back road in town and there isn't any traffic on the alley. The only problem was that the alley is MUD!!! They got the Jeep stuck, so Justin (Jeremiah's dad) got the pleasure of getting muddy along with the kids to get it unstuck! Grace's boots were covered and it took me about 45 minutes to get them clean so she could wear them to school :) Oh the joys of spring-like weather!!!

(once again no camera)

The Weekend

I had a busy weekend. Friday started off with me having to work most the day:( :) Brooks has fridays off now for awhile so it sort of stinks that I have to work when he is home, but it is good because then I don't have to find a babysitter for Grace. My dad usually watches Miss Grace for me, which is awesome! Grace loves her Papa Jack, but at the same time they pick on each other so much that at the end of the day they are both glad she is going home!!! They are dangerous together. My dad spent lots of time with me when I was little so I know that she is having loads of fun.

Saturday was busy busy busy. Grace and I started the day with going to the Ham and Bean Feed at out church. Grace got to run around church and have fun with all the grown-ups that paid her tons of attention...I am sure she loved it! She even got Fred to play tag with her, much to his new wife's and my humor. He told Grace he hadn't ran in 15 years. Fred is not old but he is older. I think he liked it. After the game of chase Fred and Grace got to share a piece of pie, with Grace eating most of the whipped cream for him:)

After the church we headed home for a nap. I then went up to the Legion to help with our Spaghetti dinner fundraiser. This was a lot of fun. We made two huge roasters full of spaghetti. It turned out to be a nice fundraiser. All the money for it went to our Merit Award fund, which is a type of award similar to a scholarship that we give to graduates in town every year.
After the Legion I went back to church for youth group. We ended up with 26 or 27 kids! This is double what we normally have on a Saturday night, so we were very happy.

Sunday was filled with Grace and I heading to church. Then I had my monthly meeting with the Auxiliary. I was worn out from the weekend and went back to bed after getting Grace ready for school on Monday! Brooks is such a great guy for putting up with me :)
(I didn't take my camera to anything so these are pictures from the internet.)

If it wasn't for bad luck...

We wouldn't have any. First off, our truck battery died last week. I went and got a new one but it won't stay charged. It is not the battery or the alternator. Something else...who knows...we will find out later. Then last night our car wouldn't start. Thankfully it was just a very loose battery cable. Then, not naming names, but some one backed into our car. Didn't really do much damage but it is just the idea of it. What next!!! Wish us luck and PRAY that things start to look up for us! Other than that stuffs good...lol.
