Bowling Saturday Night

Last Saturday night we had a family night out bowling in Chariton. Brooks' family: Aunt Mary, Uncle Dennis, Sam, Carter, Brandon, Uncle Denny, and Jason. My family: Haley & Derek & Haley's boyfriend Jeremy. And of course Grace! We all had a great time. I don't know the scores that everyone got other than Grace's first game beat Derek's second game score, so that was sort of funny. Oh well. I didn't bowl, I didn't want to embarass everyone with my high score...ya right. The guy who owns the bowling alley is also a cousin of my father in law's. He has just installed lights and a fog machine and it is very cool! He also just got all new shoes. The prices are very reasonable too. The video is of Carter dancing...he was very much in the groove of things!

Grace, Brooks and I went to Disney on Ice today. It was a lot of fun. Grace liked all of it but did make the comment that "it went to much"...meaning it was looooong. It did seem like it toke forever, Mom, Dad, and Grace were yawning by the end. Here are a ton of pictures!!! Enjoy!

Grace finally got to meet her Uncle Denny from California last Thursday. She has met all of the rest of this family except him. This would be Brooks' mom's brother-in-law. He only comes to Iowa about once a year and last year we didn't meet up with him for some reason. We caught him in town this time and I told him to wait right where he was. Uncle Denny and Grace and her cousin Brandon all share the same birthday date and we had been talking about it recently and she wanted to know who he was. I was happy she finally got to meet him. She surprised me by not being shy at all and showing off all her "skills" for him. Jason is Denny's son and we got to see him last year about this time. He and his dad come back this time of year to hunt. Grace LOVES Jason!!! After the visit last year she named her only boy baby doll Jason, so that shows you how much she likes him. The poor guy did not get one moments peace the whole night we were at Grandma's. "Jason come play, Jason come hide, Jason come find me, Jason, Jason, Jason!!!" It was quite funny for the rest of us beacuse we are all old news to her and she doesn't bother us as much.

Sick Day

I was sick a couple Wednesdays ago. I had a slight headache and a terrible terrible tummy ache. I also was COLD!!! I had on sweat pants, t-shirt, a hoodie with the hood up, socks, two blankets over me and one blanket wrapped around me and up over my head!!! Brooks was awesome...he made me toast and tea, and a little later in the night some vegetable beef soup. Grace curled up with me to make me feel better too and had to wear her own hoodie too! I was the luckiest sick person that night. I am making a pouty sad face in the picture to let you know that I am not feeling well...lol.

Five years and holding

November 15th, 2003 Brooks and I finally got married!!! We had been dating for seven years and decided to finally make it official. So on Saturday we celebrated our Fifth Anniversary. We went out to eat with friends of ours, Lori & Marvin and Sidiana and Dave. We came back to our house and drank and just laughed. We all had a great time. So Happy Anniversary to Us! Many more great years to come.

2008 Tour of Olympic Stars

Friday night, Grandpa Wade and Grandma Diana (Brooks' parents) took Grace to Wells Fargo Arena to see the 2008 Tour of Olympic Stars. Grace was so pumped up about going. I did have to get on YouTube to show her what gymnastics was. I told her Shawn Johnson was going to be there and that we watched her a couple months ago when we watched LOTS and LOTS of sports on tv every night. I am not sure if she remembered though.

She got home about quarter after ten that night and was soooo very excited about what she saw. She told me it was "just like a concert" not sure where the comparison comes from? Grandma and Grandpa spoiled her a bit and bought her a poster of Shawn Johnson and a t-shirt that had the logo on it. Grandpa took lots of pictures, so here they are

Nice Weather

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather we had yesterday and the fact that Brooks didn't have to work last night and went to the lake. We went to Elk Rock found a nice place to walk in the timber. Our original plan was to walk down to the lake and have a picnic. The place we choose did not allow access to the lake unless you are a really good climber. The path we took ended up going straight down! We found a tree and a somewhat level place to put the blanket down and enjoy our Lunchables! We took some pictures and had a really good time. We went driving around the campgrounds and Grace ended up getting to get out and see some horses that were camping there with their owners. We then drove over to Cordova Park, which is still at the lake, and walked out to the cliffs. This is the same place I took Grace's three year old picks (see previous post http://thedeheers.blogspot.com/2008/08/day-at-lake.html). We got some great looking pics there too as the sun was setting with wonderful orange and pinks. As we were leaving we got to see about five deer.
